For the first time in the country, the BSC degree program has been made available online. The special thing is that this degree program in Programming and Data Science has been started by IIT Madras, the most prestigious institute of the country.
One can get admission in online BSC course from any age group who have passed 12th standard. A person living in any part of the country can enroll in it and take the exam from there.
Three level courses have been provided under the B.Sc., Data Science and Programming- Program launched with the help of Ministry of Human Resource Development. One of these is foundation course, second diploma and third degree.
The fee for online BSC program launched by IIT Madras has been fixed at Rs 3000 only. A diploma course can be done by any student who has passed 12th, in a period of 1 year, he / she can get foundation in 3 years and foundation in 3 and he / she can get degree in 3 years duration.

The Minister of Human Resource Development launched the country’s first online BSC course at IIT Madras via digital. In this course, a twelfth pass student who has also studied English and Mathematics in class 10 and any other student who is enrolled in any other graduate level course can take admission.
Job, professional persons can also take admission in this course. This will be an online course so it will not affect their work as well.
Union Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said, “IIT Madras had the distinction of being the country’s number one technical institute in the recently released NIRF rankings.
It is usually a big challenge to get admission in IITs due to limited availability of seats. Quality courses will play an important role to a large number of students through this online course. “
Students will get 4 week courses in 4 subjects – Enumeration, English, Statistics and Computational Thinking. Students will get courses through online medium, submit assignments and write an exam at the end of fourth week.
Unlike the traditional admission procedures of IITs, all those students who pass the qualifier exam with a total score of -50 percent will be able to take admission in this course.
