Taking a big decision against China, the Indian government has banned 59 Chinese apps. It also includes the famous apps TikTok and PubG. The Ministry of Information Technology has banned these 59 Chinese mobile apps under Section 69A (Section 69A of the Information Technology Act) of the Information Technology Act. The Ministry has issued a notice stating that these 59 Chinese apps were engaged in activities threatening India’s sovereignty and integrity, defense of India, security of the state, and public order. In such a situation, the government has decided to ban these apps.

In the last few years, India has emerged as one of the world’s largest markets for smartphones and apps. In such a situation, banning 59 popular Chinese apps in India is a very big action against China.

There have been allegations even earlier on Chinese applications of stealing Indian data and sending it to Chinese servers. The Ministry says that in the last few days, the Ministry of Information Technology has received several complaints from various sources, stating that these Chinese apps on Android and iOS steal and misuse their data without the users’ knowledge. At the same time, users are sending their data in an unauthorized way to those servers which are located outside India.
